Welcome to the home of the 61st Cavalry Regiment.
This clan was created for tankers who want to meet and play with like minded people, and have fun doing so. We play WoT, and created the [61ST] for fun and relaxation. This is not a job, although some clans want you to feel that way. The founding members of the [61ST] decided our views on how a clan should be run were not a good fit with the clan we were in. Instead of complaining and raging, we decided to from our own group. We believe in several ideas very strongly. First and foremost, the clan is not the personal property of one person or a select few people. It belongs to all the clan members. We strive to be very inclusive of all members.
Secondly, everyone who wants to be involved, can have a role. The [61ST] is run by a Regimental council which makes our rules and by-laws, and is made up of members who hold leadership positions. Council meetings are open to all members. There are no secret meetings where a couple of people go off and make decisions impacting everyone. We have a rank structure that allows members to advance based on their own achievements, and are allowed to progress as high as they want. Even better, we have a ranking system where once a specified rank is reach, it is accompanied by a position on the Regimental Council, no matter what the tanker's position is within the hierarchy. Another way we are inclusive is clan members choose their own leadership. For example, a group of people who play together all the time can elect to form their own platoon, and choose their own platoon leader. We will not choose one for them. Three platoons form a Company, and two companies a Battalion. Platoons elect their platoon leaders, and the platoon COs in turn elect Company COs, and in turn Battalion COs. Company and Battalion COs are automatically included in the Regimental Council.
No one is coming into the clan and getting a leadership position because they are buddies with anyone. We have several boards (i.e Bounty and Promotion) that meet and help with running of the regiment since we want our people to share responsibility with officers. However, if you just want a place to call home and play WoT with friends, we encourage that as well. We are always looking for people who share our ideals to join us and make us stronger. But even if you are not looking to join, please reach out to any of us when you are playing. We are always looking to make new friends.
